Our school is not a school of children rather it is a school of
families. A strong network of support has developed within and out of
our school community. There is a strong degree of parent participation
in the planning and review processes with strong parent participation on
various committees supporting school operations. Parents provide the
face-to-face teaching to our students in their home.

We are in the third year of our 3-Year Strategic Plan. For the life of the Strategic Plan, our school is committed to achieving the following outcomes: Improving the reading ability of students through a structured reading program concentrating on students in the early years and other children identified as poor readers. To improve the school’s overall performance in spelling to the state average or above. Staff and families feel competent in using “Blackboard” as an instructional tool. To implement a revised assessment and reporting system that meets the needs and requirements of our learners, our home tutors, our teachers and Education Queensland. Continually supporting new families who enrol in our school in order to maximise student learning outcomes. To ensure that teacher time is used effectively to improve the educational outcomes of students. To improve basic numeracy skills through an active approach on-air. Our School’s reading and spelling results have been trending upwards over the past three years as our school has focussed on extra spelling and reading strategies. Strategies have included, focussed lessons, individual lessons, new curriculum materials and a revised supplementary reading program. |
|
Parent, student and teacher satisfaction with the school |
